Why does eXoSpace crash on startup?

This may be a problem related to your graphics drivers. Here are some things you can try:

• Update your graphics drivers. Outdated drivers can cause many bugs and issues.
• Change the rendering backend. Chooese the "Configure eXoSpace Combat Engineer" launch option in Steam (accessible by right clicking the game in the library list and choosing "Properties"). Try Vulkan and DirectX 12 first and only use OpenGl as a last resort, as this implementation is least wel supported (though it should work).
• Disable the Steam Overlay: right-click the game in Steam -> Properties -> uncheck "Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game". On some systems this helps, when there is some incompatibility with other overlays or software. There are also reports of Overwolf overlays causing crashes, so it may be worth disabling that one as well.

Why is the game performance poor?

If the game run slowly on your computer, try going to settings and changing "Graphics" to "Fast". This will disable MSAA and Bloom, which will speed up rendering significantly.

Alternatively, you can try changing the graphics backend in the launcher. Sometimes specific graphics adapters (and their drivers) work better with specific rendering backends.

Why is my sound distorted?

There is a known issue with Razer 7.1 spatial audio enabled. The workaround is to disable Razer spatial audio until this is fixed.

File locations

• Game data location: right click the game in the Steam Library, choose "Manage" -> "Browse Local Files". On Windows this is usually something like C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\eXoSpace Demo\game_data.
• Log files: right click the game in the Steam Library, choose "Manage" -> "Browse Local Files". Go to game_data\logs.
• Save data location: on Windows this is usually a sub-folder of C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Fantastimaker.
